EGO

Ego, on hearing this word what’s the first thing that comes to your mind… Yes, the proud feeling which any person has for him/herself… In this feeling a person thinks only about himself/herself, Ego has many meanings. It could mean one’s self-esteem; an inflated sense of self-worth; the conscious-thinking about self; or in philosophical terms, one’s self.

3

Let’s see in brief about this word or its effects.

I have an incidence for you through this incidence you can understand how EGO effects in our life…

EGO is a very poisonous word. These 3 bitter letters are enough to DE-motivate our self. It not just a word it has their 3 major effects in our life …

It makes us Emotion less…

It breaks our growing…

It makes us Oppositions of others…

Losing ego is the only way to reach enlightenment. How does one lose ego? Existence is continuously changing. If you trust that existence changes and you also change, you can never get settled with your ego. Your ego is nothing but a rigid mechanism, a definite pattern. Only a person who is ego-less can trust that the universe is changing and he is also changing. The man who sells his time will never understand that the universe is changing because he is caught in a routine.

Let us have a look on a short story on Ego..

There was once a learned scientist..

After a lot of practice and efforts, he developed a formula and learned the art of reproducing himself. He did it so perfectly that it was impossible to tell about anything is of the reproduction from the original.

One day while doing his research, he realized that the Angel of Death was searching for him. In order to remain immortal he reproduced a dozen copies of himself. The reproduction was so meticulous that all of them looked exactly like him. Now when this Angel of Death came down, he was at a loss to know which of the thirteen before him was the original scientist, and getting confused, he left them all alone and returned back to heaven.

But, not for long, for being an expert in human nature, the Angel came up with a clever idea. He said to the scientist addressing all thirteen of them, “Sir, you must be a genius to have succeeded in making such perfect reproduction formula of yourself. However, I have discovered a flaw in your work, just one tiny little flaw.”

Now here the EGO enters about flaw in his creation. The scientist immediately jumped out and shouted, Impossible! Where is the flaw?” “Right here” said the Angel, as he picked up the scientist from among the reproductions and carried him off.

The whole purpose of the scientist and his formula of reproduction failed as he could not control his pride and lost his life.

So while ones Knowledge and Skills takes one to the top of the ladder and makes one successful, however the three letter word “EGO” can pull one down immediately.

So Let go ones Ego.

Ego and humility are intertwined, in consciousness in varying degrees for survival on a material plane. The ego represents assertion of the self for attainments of objectives of life. If everyone stood on their own ego, cooperation and coexistence would be impossible. The connection between the ego and humility is reasonably simple: progressive erosion of the ego leads to humility. There are many bad effects of ego… The ego is that aspect of a person striving to make its presence felt both on the individual personality and upon others, constantly demanding to be satisfied and satiated otherwise discontent and personal disharmony will be the result its demands are not fulfilled. Ego is responsible for many negative human traits, including but certainly not limited to being critical and judgmental of others, being rigid and inflexible, being manipulative, need to feel superior, feeling anxious and fearful, mood swings, taking everything too personally, taking everything too seriously, constant need for approval and praise, feeling hurried and driven to do things, competing rather than cooperating, feeling resentful and guilty, unable to live in the present moment, addictions to alcohol, tobacco and other Mind altering substances, overly concerned with personal appearance, overly concerned with success, feeling insecure, constant worry over trivialities, clinging to the past, feelings of despair and hopelessness, feeling life is meaningless, and the need for power over others. All of these are seriously negative human traits, and ones that can easily make a person’s life a misery.

The ego causes an illusory focus on those aspects of the physical world that are really not at all important for peace, harmony and happiness, and most importantly for enduring and true evolution and progression. Without true inner peace, harmony and living in Spirit, true progress quite simply cannot be made. It must therefore be considered to be an unwelcome adversary, focusing on the individual self rather than absolute reality, and above all one that focuses on self rather than the most sacred path and true meaning of life.

Many people are very quick to blame others or the world in general for their own problems; it is always much easier for people to blame everything and everyone else rather than having to face up to everything themselves, thereby taking full responsibility for their own thoughts and actions. Whenever anything adverse occurthe immediate reaction of many is usually focused towards looking for scapegoats rather than looking inwards towards self for the real cause of the corresponding effect.

I have observed that Some people are so much under the control of their own ego that they really are absolutely convinced they are always right and everyone else, and indeed the rest of the Universe must always be completely wrong; a level of ego which can have most detrimental consequences indeed for such an individual.

The ego constantly strives to have people believe they are not responsible for their own actions but are rather a victim of circumstance or of the state of the world in general. Such a person might blame family, friends, politicians, people they work with, work bosses, or simply describe negative effects to such non-existent notions as “bad luck”, “fortune” or “chance”.

Here are some remedies to lose your Ego easily.

1.Keep Empathy

When you generate feeling of empathy for those who have directly or indirectly hurt your ego, try to justify their situation or mentality about that kind of behavioror words. If you can expand your thinking little more about their culture, custom and circumstances you can easily let go the matter without hurting your EGO.

2. Think Opponent is Immature.

In our lives sometime we are surrounded with people who are not aware of in & out of any situation but can’t stop commenting or suggesting on the same. If your ego is touched by them than you will remain disturb half of your life. Ignore them with a thinking pattern that your opponent is immature. When we have to deal with immature people we tend to develop patience automatically.

Try these remedies and your Ego will never become your Barrier …
